Poodle
In these days of constant progress, when the tendency of everyone, and everything, seems to be to get ahead and try to outdo one another, in fact, as we so often see it termed, “to set a new record.” I think I am right in saying that, in the history of the world, dogs have never been so highly thought of as they are today, nor were they ever been so catered to, in so many ways, nor as popular.
I was at a meeting where we were discussing what seems like a rash of new dog breeds springing from the much loved Poodle. This may be because for people with allergies, poodles are perfect because they don’t shed like most other dog breeds.

Cockapoo
A dog hybrid, also called a designer dog (we used to and still do call them mutts) is a new term for an individual dog with ancestry in two different purebred dog breeds, traditionally called a crossbred dog. Designer dogs are described by whimsical blended words, such as Cockapoo, Cocker Spaniel/Poodle. Dog hybrids (designer dogs) may be first generation crosses from two purebred breeds, or any of various back crosses, or the result of breeding successive generations of crosses in an effort to create a new breed of purebred dog, or out crosses of any of those; the term hybrid dog (designer dog) does not have a consistent meaning.
The Pugapoo, sometimes referred to as a Pugoodle, is a poodle hybrid that is created by crossing a poodle and a pug. It is a rather new breed and can be very hard to find for the potential owner. Poodle hybrids are commonly referred to as ‘designer dogs,’ but there’s nothing pretentious about a Pugapoo.

Pugapoo
Depending on the size of the parents, it can range in weight from 3 to 30 pounds. The Pugapoo’s build can resemble that of either the poodle, or the very sturdy/boxy build of the pug. The coat can vary dramatically, having either the curly coat of a typical poodle, or the short hair of the standard pug, or anything in between. Shedding is minimal and the coat is typically non-allergen. A typical color for this breed is fawn, but can also be black, white, cream, or grey.

Labradoodle
A Labradoodle is a crossbred or hybrid dog created by crossing the Labrador Retriever and the Standard or Miniature Poodle. I’ve seen one up close and it was adorable!
The Labradoodle was first deliberately bred in 1989, when Australian breeder Wally Conron first crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle for Guide Dogs Victoria. His aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Guide Dogs Victoria continue to breed Labradoodles and Labradoodles are often used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs.
Dog breeds are groups of closely related and visibly similar domestic dogs, which are all of the subspecies Canis lupus familiaris, having characteristic traits that are selected and maintained by humans, bred from a known foundation stock.
Dog breeds are not scientifically defined biological classifications, but rather are groupings defined by clubs of hobbyists called breed clubs.
When we consider the many varieties of dogs, differing as much as is possible in the members of one breed, and the appearance, habits, dispositions, uses and characteristics, just as various, there is no wonder how dog lovers cherish them. Anyone who wants to, can find a dog that fits in perfectly in their life.
